Covid-19 News from the Italian PTO

In connection with the Covid-19 outbreak and the related exceptional measures taken by the Italian government to limit further spread of the infection, this is to inform you that the Italian Patent and Trademark Office has suspended all deadlines expiring between March 9 and April 3 2020, with the exception of peremptory deadlines for trademark oppositions and appeals. There is no need to file any specific request. After the end of the suspension period, terms will run again based on their residual duration.
We will keep you updated on any similar initiatives that might be taken by the EUIPO, EPO and WIPO, as the emergency is currently affecting many other European countries.
